Can Israel's Peace Song Drown the Screams of Gaza's Children?

Growing up under Israeli occupation, we didn't have much in the way of entertainment. That's why I watched the Eurovision song contest on TV. Compared to the usual TV fair on the three available channels, it was exciting. Another reason I watched is to root against the Israeli entry.

Israel likes to pretend it's interested in engagement and co-existence, so a substance-free Jewish and Palestinian singing duo is just perfect for their needs. Meanwhile, they have arrested Israeli journalist Amira Hass, because she was actually living among Palestinians and reporting from Gaza.

they don't like what she says, which is the truth about their violence.

Huge sigh of relief. Israel did not even place in the top 10, right?
