
There has been so much bad news lately as always. So I was happy to chance on a bit of good news about someone who is doing well in the Arab world these days. Amr Khaled, the Egyptian televangelist, has been ranked by the Arab Forbes Magazine (via Al Quds Al Arabi) as having the highest income amongst all his peers. He cleared 2.5 million dollars in 2007.
Now, that is heart warming and encouraging. It's proof positive that words, as chewed up and anorexic as they are, pay off. So there is hope for all of us who deal in words. We just need to keep dealing.
