Playing With Borders

"But perhaps it was not the thoughtlessness that led to this but rather the colonialist bravado; that those who drew the borders over the generations added and subtracted thousands of people without asking their opinions. To day they are "inside" and tomorrow, when the fashion changes, they will be 'out,'" writes Meron Benvenist on the Israeli border follies.

This is pretty terrific stuff. Not enough people (at least in America) make the connection between colonialism and colonialist policies and Zionism. The effects of British and other colonialisms continue to suck life from the world generations after the Empires have faded away.
