How Israel Creates Dirty Facts on the Ground

"he Israel Defense Forces recently issued an order expropriating over 1,100 dunams of land from four Arab villages located between East Jerusalem and the West Bank settlement of Ma'aleh Adumim.

The land is slated to be used for a new Palestinian road that would connect East Jerusalem with Jericho. That in turn would "free up" the E-1 area between Jerusalem and Ma'aleh Adumim - through which the current Jerusalem-Jericho road runs - for a long-planned Jewish development consisting of 3,500 apartments and an industrial park....
The land is being confiscated from the villages of Abu Dis, Arab al-Sawahra, Nebi Musa and Talhin Alhamar....The plan also noted that the proposed housing development in E-1 would create an uninterrupted urban expanse between Jerusalem and Ma'aleh Adumim. Such an expanse would effectively sever the territorial contiguity between the northern and southern West Bank."

you are a cynical person. what you are doing is inappropriate, trying to legitimize homosexuality by mixing it with the Palestinian struggle for liberation and justice. do you take us for fools?

sam,

I would like to think I'm being principled. Both the gay issue and the Palestinian issue are about the right of people to self-determination. I can go on and on about the parallels between the two oppressed groups, but I'll spare you for now.

there is no comparison between the Palestinian struggle against ethnic cleansing, invasion, house demolition, and almost daily slaughter of Palestinians with your crusade to sleep with the same-sex partner. please don't offend us with you comparisons. it's cynical, it's utterly insensitive. shame on you.

Shame on whom?

Shame on someone that fights for justice against oppression even for gays?

How about the gays in the Palestinian struggle shame on them for wanting to be free from occupation and to be free to live a normal life out of the closet?

I say shame on those that turn a blind eye against homosexuality in the middle east as if it doesn't exist.

Shame on those that ignore violence against gays and ignore their oppression.

I say shame on those that want us to ignore the plight of others because they are not like us.

Wait while I go puke.

we have genocide, starvation, repression, illiteracy, invasion, poverty, ..., and all you care about is having sex while others suffer? you call that a cause?

you make me sick.

fred,

I will take this argument seriously only if you apply it to heterosexuals as well. You must also shame men and women who have sex together, think about it, or defend their right to have it when we have genocide, starvation, repression, illiteracy, invasion, poverty, hurricanes, and George Bush. Fair is fair.

amal, heterosexuals do not have blogs on the jordanian blogosphere crying for the right to have sex. when heterosexuals create blogs about sex, we call it porno. you try to make porno into a human right cause. so offensive. stop equating homosexual sex to ending occupation that kills human beings. this is offensive and insensitive.
