Cloning Korea

Plastic surgery is thriving in South Korea, mostly women, under 30, who want to look like Korean TV stars. The article does not mention what I read elsewhere that the "ideal" look these women are seeking is western: bigger noses, wider eyes, and narrower faces. (thanks Young)

Back in high school, my brother told me that one of his Korean friend, was pressured by her mother to have the double-lid surgery. Most Koreans naturally have monolids, but society...and their /parents/, pressure the girls to have surgery to give them a more western/southern double-lid look.
