Polygamy on TV

Apparently there's lots of it this Ramadan season on Egyptian soap operas, which is bugging women advocates who feel these programs glorify a practice that is not that common and ignore more substantive issues.

I guess at a time when young people can't afford to marry, viewing polygamy on TV on daily basis is quite tantalizing (for the man at least).

I don't know about tantalizing, but certainly interesting because I've never seen seen it before, and that's a good thing because these Ramadan series are getting very repetetive.

Expecting them to represent real life is asking too much. Its like asking for an overweight barby or an ugly moviestar. It is merely entertainment.

I'd have more of a complaint about the series about rape because while that's interesting and Yusra is doing a wonderful job, it is too heavy a subject matter for Ramadan.
