Pakistani Students Protest Unholy Alliance

"Pakistani students have flayed the government for allowing clerics demanding enforcement of Sharia to hold the country hostage, calling it a collaboration between the Islamist forces and the military regime to deflect attention from serious crisis facing the government. ....

They slammed the remarks of one of the clerics of the Islamabad's Lal Masjid, Maulana Abdul Rasheed Ghazi, who reportedly said that university has become a brothel and the women associated with it were immoral. ...
The meeting also called attention to the Maulana's invocation of violence when he said he would not consider it wrong if such women had acid thrown at their faces, The Dawn Daily reported. ... While Gazi and his brother Maulana Abdul Aziz have issued fatwas and set a deadline for the government to impose Sharia in Islamabad, the Burqa-clad girls students of the aoining Jamia Hafsa Madrassa have indulged in Taliban-style moral policing forcing the closure of music shops and prostitution dens."
