New Book: Tasting the Sky

Tasting the Sky: A Palestinian Childhood is a memoir by Ibtisam Barakat about growing up under occupation. For a profile of Barakat, see IMEU.

Ibtisam and I grew up in the same city and went to the same public school in El Bireh around the same time. We graduated from the same university. So I'm really looking forward to reading this book. It's not going to wait politely for its turn in line; it's going to elbow its way to the top of my "read now" list.

Amal,
Yella post about little mosque. Gay marriage, nasty mother in laws, and polygamous marriage in one episode... all this just in the first 4 minutes...

I'm off to watch the rest.

Lots of reading. Amal, Ala Alaswany's new collection of short stories is titled Niran Sadiqa (Friendly Fire)
