How To Protect Palestinian Traditions from Hamas

Palestinian women according to 3000 years of tradition
Hasan Khader has some good suggestions, including stripping Palestinian women of their traditional embroidered dresses and shipping them (the dresses, not the naked women) to a neutral country like Switzerland for protection. Meanwhile we can import a shipment of Gulfi Abayas from Taiwan to keep the women looking decent. (in Arabic)

Those Palestinian dresses are gorgeous. And that's the real tradition meets culture and religion!
If only All women would refuse to "cover up" beyond what these dresses provide. It would be great!
Do you know if there are a "Wedding" version of these Thob? I know I would love to see a 3aroos dressed in one of these! It would be so original!
Perfect juxtaposition, Amal. It's not enough that the Zionists have done their best to destroy our culture, patrimony, and lives; now some among us are trying to do it also. Qwaider, you can get a wedding thob. Lots of charities offer them. Just google Palestinian embroidery and you'll find something.
i second that, the Palestinian traditional dress is the best.
you go GIRLLLL
qwaider,
as Um Khalil mentions, there are wedding dresses. They are wonderful and vary from region to region. In my town, although the bride wears a white dress that she rents (or buys from London if she's rich), she still get dressed in a traditional Palestinian dress for the Henna night, which is the night before the wedding.
Um Khalil,
The Islamic movement has been at it from day one and hardly anybody opened his mouth. It's interesting that they chose to speak up now.
Thanks for this article
My parents come from the village Fandaqoumiyyah and it was unfortunate that the traditional dress was replaced by meaningless ugly and scary uni-colour garments that do not belong either to our landscape nor connect with our environmemt.
And Qwaider, my brother got married to a woman from Surda Rammaha, and she was dressed in a WONDERFUL dress in the henna night as Amal said. All her sistes and relatives were wearing the traditional Ramallah dresses and that was the most fabulous of al parties.
hi everyone i have a question does anyone know of a site where i can look at modern henna dress designs, im looking for a henna dress or hope to at least find a nice one online and have it made any suggestions will help thanks
