Will The Voices of Palestinian Children Be Heard?

"On Sunday the children of Gaza burned their toy guns as an expression of their opposition to the daily atrocities being committed by Fatah and Hamas militants in their clashes. Children said these toys have become part of the chaos, because their leaders use the real weapons for killing and destruction."

''Violence is a cleansing force. It frees the native from his inferiority complex and from his despair and inaction; it makes him fearless and restores his self-respect.''

But Fanon is talking about violence against colonialism, not tribal violence, which is what the kids are protesting in Gaza. Or do we just need to worship violence for its own sake?

Fanon also wrote about the effects of violence on those who carry it out--they were his patients in the psychiatrist hospital. It will do us some good, I think, to at least consider these effects--acknowledge their existence so we don't all end up psychotic.

Fanon didn't live to see the violence that overtook Algeria after independence, which culminated in its war on civilians in the 1990s. I wish he lived to witness that and to theorize it.

In other words, Fanon had lots of important things to teach us. But he is no prophet.

That was not my ….shoveling
………..and you being a woman has nothing to do with it… you being an Arab has a lot …….
You still listen to what you want to listen to……………topical Arab ……….use the internet... al Jazeera, please, I believe you are much more intelligent than that (Oh, I get it. You’re referring to the intelligence of YMC friend of your’s).
You are looking to fill the void in your heart that is Palestine and you’re good at gathering information, so stick to it………..
You have never lived their life, so cut them some slack. That’s what I say …sigh and pray for us. Don’t criticize us. We are dying to reaffirm your right to say (Ana Falastini) screw all the politicians, unless we start another episode of fighting. Lying on the ground is the only thing we have to do. YES, my Palestinian sister, it is the same ones that will punish the IDF are the ones lying down to prevent the fighting (like your mom told you he who’s hand in the fire, not like the one with hands in water). To summon it all: the old guards have been assassinated and you have a lot of sheesha smoking ones out there that have to be dealt with.
I’ll take the part about Fanon back. I was referring to the violence that sprang the peaceful demonstration but… bravo… that was a good analogy..
