I'm sad to report that the romance between the Arab Street and Hizbollah may not make it to Valentine's Day!
As with all romances and heart breaks, there are two sides to the story: On the one hand, Arab street believes Hizbollah betrayed her love and injured her feelings when it gloated over the execution of an ex. True, it was a dysfunctional love-hate relationship with that ex, but still a relationship! Also Hizbollah is taking the Arab Street for granted and has been seen lately flirting with Politics As Usual.
Hizbollah, on the other hand, is not having any of it. He is accusing Arab Street of being fickle and ungrateful, forgetting too soon that she was handed a glorious victory on a divine plate--something none of her other suitors had ever done. Even that ex. she's waxing lyrical about, the best he could deliver was 39 scuds, half of which landed in the West Bank anyway.
I have it from sources close to both that Julia Butrus is trying to mediate between the two. Will she succeed? Stay tuned. But these things drag on, so while waiting, you may want to read this.

May be wafa wahbi will do it this time. It is just increadible that all this has been happening in Lebanon, that I have not received a book order from Beirut I put forward 2 months ago, and that Star Academy is alive and well, and the Arab world and its diasporas everywhere are watching the kids mingling...

Hi ng,
who is wafa wahbi?? and who is mingling??
Star Academy maybe alive but it's not well. I'm a Super Star fan : )
I tell you man, it's the evil eye hit the Arab world. 3ain we sabetna!
Hizb Allah is popular with Shiite Lebanese. It seems to be losing popularity with Sunni Arabs. The Arab world has discovered Shi`a/Sunni sectarianism.
I don't fully understand this sectarianism. But it seems to be driven by Saudi rhetoric, and the rest of us are lapping up the Saudi dribble.
the other explanation is of course that the rest of the world 7asaduna for the wonderful state we were in over the last decades and sabuna bi 3en.
I agree with your last conclusion. It's 3ain!
speaking of the invention of this sunni/shi3a divide: during one of their celebrations, Fateh were chanting "Shi3a Shi3a" everytime Hamas was mentioned in Abu Mazen's speech. He tried to silence them, but they wouldn't shut up.
wallah bedna kharazeh zaraka!
rabee
sayed Hassan Nasrullah is not sectarian that s why he has the support of Omar Karami (sunni) Tallal Arslane (druzze) and Michel aoun and Slimane Franjiyeh (both christians )
He still have the support of the Arab streets , he is loved in North africa where im from. and Israeli Generals say they were defeated too . Yes the Saudi Corrupt family tried to make him look bad , but who support that family anyway ? (yes the neocons and the zionists must admitt )
