Islamic Jihad Scores!!!

Using a suicide bomber, Islamic Jihad scored today a significant goal against both Hamas and Fateh. While Hamas and Fateh's fighting killed six Palestinians today, Islamic Jihad's operation killed three Israelis and one Palestinian. It was only a matter of time before the smaller group capitalized on the fighting between its two main rivals. A new comer, a splinter group of Al Aqsa Brigades called "The Army of Believers," was allowed to participate in this particular attack, which is used to chastise both Fateh and Hamas and to win in the process some new supporters at a time the Palestinians are disgusted with both major groups.

In a pathetic gesture of mimicry of the way Israel, the US (and later Hizballah and the Iraq government) name their military operations, this suicide attack is given a name: "3amaleyyatThawaban al Jaleed al esteshhadeyeh" (the Ice Melting Martyrdom operation). Too grand a name in my opinion. A more realistic one would have been the "Croissant or bagel martyrdom operation" since the explosion happened in a bakery.

Many are tripping over themselves with the knee jerk reaction defending the suicide attack as "a natural response" (there's nothing "natural" about this) and asserting Palestinians' right to "resistance" (who the hell are they speaking to? Oh, each other, of course!) I was disappointed to see that among those who did that is Mustafa al Barghouti, who used to be more critical of suicide attacks. But I guess since he turned into a professional politician with an eye on the Chair he has to talk the talk and walk the walk. Too bad.

Resuming suicide attacks on Israeli civilians will not solve our problems. For after all one of these problems has been our redefining of "Resistance" to mean suicide bombings (a very nice present we handed to Israel) and the use of suicide bombings as a legitimizing tactic by any group or bastard that claims one regardless of the disasters they are bringing on our heads.

To me suicide bombings are reminders of how weak real, effective, grass root Palestinian resistance is: they simultaneously obscure that resistance and weaken it. Suicide bombings are a reminder of how weak the Palestinians are and how weak they will continue to be if they don't resist this "resistance."

Isn't it about time that we stop trusting career politicians?!
And yeah, palestinians are weak, there's nothing they can do!

I don't really--realistically--see what will work with Israel, silence, somoud, samt, suicide, anger, submission--none of this seemed or seems to work. Nothing to be done, to cite Beckett.
I guess I am too dismayed but I am also sure that all rhetoric about peace negotiations is "poudre aux yeux" (literally, leading to nothing).
Also, this is not about reason and reasoning, madness or maddening, each is used in the service of the other and vice versa. There is no light at the end of the tunnel, the tunnel is all there is!
Call me pessemist and I will call you misguided optimist!

Qwaider,

don't get me started about career politicians!! I might get flagged. But the Palestinians can do things--these days they are just doing all the wrong things.

ng,

The tunnel is about to collapse on our heads! I don't think you can find one single Palestinian these days who is optimistic. Our pessimism infects all our friends.

You know, I’m speechless here I can’t but feel for the method in which they have to answer to the dally incursion and the targeted assassination that the Israelis them self do not know about, I have been a devout Moslem at start of my life way before the suicide bombing became a phenomena and still I cant grasp the idea, even thought I do not sympathies or empathies I can’t help but understand.

If you would of read the post from the Islamic Jihad http://www.qudsway.com/
you would read that Al- Jihad had said the attack was meant to focus all factions of what The Aqsa martyrs brigades had declared on Thursday 01/25/2006 there intensions of attacking Israel
In what it called hamlt al Baraq (البراق), and as of Monday it declared a joint mission with Al jihad which they called (عملية ذوبـــان الجليــد) fancy names soon we will have to use all those cods WOW. http://www.kataebaqsa1.com/arabic/.
In my research I reached to the fowling points:
1- Nether side will give details of how he got there (they are giving misleading info..)
2- That (محمد فيصل السكسك) started his journey to Eilat about 3 days and the explosive took about a month to get there which shows that the infighting has nothing to do with it, GOD help all.
3- The bakery was a last resort http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/819015.html
4- We all need to get to the realization that the factions in Palestine or at least the Suiciders one’s do not car what any one thank of them, the road to peace started back in 1988-89 and still all they got is more misery
5- I believe that the brigades had restructured it self under new names to escape the Dahlanyazem.
In all this is a mess some one need to start cleaning it up if Palestinians attack solders they will be called terrorists as if they attack civilians so why should they risk getting captured
Believe it or not the target is always IDF on or off duty and most of the time they do not get to there target so they detente as they get found out about (lets just call that coagulates of war since IDF in and around every inch of the land). Wrong is wrong but I have an advice that will solve all this GET THE FREAK OUT OF THERE LAND. wow that simple. My 3 year old told me that.
