American Virgins
Isn't it interesting that in this story about some Americans' embrace of chastity and virginity till marriage there is nothing about Muslim Americans. It mentions Christians and Jews but leave out Muslims. I guess talking about Muslims in this context, along with Christians and Jews, would unsensationalize them. The media perfers to treat Muslims as separate species of beings to be placed in sensational contexts that affirm their "difference."

I would love to see a breakdown on the sexual behaviors of different religious and ethnic groups. You'll notice that there are no data in the article on groups that are non-white, either.
Of course, Muslims will mentioned only if there's some robbery or crime or what they call terror.

well, Muslims also fall in the non-whites category in this context-another reason to exclude them from articles with "positive" tones.

when they talk about "Muslim sexuality" they like to talk about it in negative contexts: too repressive, too permissive, weird this and veil that.
There are no American virgins over 16 years old.
Over here sex is a norm.
Islam is not understood over here.

Allow me to Quote Bill Maher about statistics done about the so called virgin till married folks.
According to statistics the girls that have taken the chastity oath were found to be 60% more likely to engage in anal and oral sex. (so if the normal rate was 50/50 or 5 out of 10 for other teens the rate would be these would be 8 out of 10)
According to Maher, this is what happens when you throw laws around young folks. They find loop holes. And in their case, they found two of them.
Aren't you glad now that Muslims were not added to that list?

the fact the Muslims are not added to that list does not mean that they don't have the same issues, or that they dont' use the same "loop holes" as you put it.
