Personally, I would fight against my kid leaving school early for any reason. Everything else can wait. Especially prayer.

Here's my simplistic solution.
Have the prayer 20 minutes later.
I'm not against people practicing their religion. And god knows I leave work to go to Friday prayer. But if the difference they're negotiating is only 20 minutes. Just have the prayer delayed 20 minutes.
