More on reception of "Paradise Now."

It has not been shown in Nabuls because, one reason given, it has a scene of a man and woman kissing on the lips. Yeah. That is dangerous.

But that's probably the reason why Lubna Azabaal was chosen for the role of Suha: She was willing to kiss on-screen. I don't recall Clara Khoury ever doing a kissing seen. Hiam Abbass did it-and more- in Satin Rouge.

I've just realized that palestinian cinema has so few names. That's probably why Clara is in every film.

isn't Hiam Abbass Tunisian?

God no! She's nazarethian, and much like (almost) everyone in Nazareth, goes by 'Palestinian'.

She currently lives in france, though.

Now, I have to re-view Satin Rouge with new eyes. Maybe with this new info I'll be more reconciled to it.
