A Palestinian man and woman are divoced by court after 18 years of marriage and 4 children because it turned out that the wife, who is his first cousin, is also his aunt (through breast feeding):
" السيدة المطلقة حاولت ان تشرح لولدها الموقف ببساطة فقالت:" خالي هو اخي، وانا اخت امي واخت خالتي وخالة زوجي".
This is the best argument I ever heard against breast feeding. But I'm still confused. The good news, though, is that the man has already moved on. A new wife. I hope he researched her well this time. It would be sad to discover in 20 years that she was his uncle.
But seriously, more than a third of marriages in Palestine are to cousins.
